Welcome to Friday and Podcast #4! Today we cover everything from Kwame Kilpatrick to Jackie Kennedy, Falling Stocks to Bill Bonds, and Bill Clinton to a Woodpecker (one has nothing to do with the other, honest!) Plus there are two big surprises… One for one of our listeners - and another for a member of the Purtan Family! (Stay tuned… it’s at the end! And it’s a big one! No, Gail’s NOT pregnant!)
The pictures show me, “Mr. Handyman”, putting up the ribbons to scare off the woodpecker. He hasn’t returned in a week and a half!

And your house looks so festive too!
Love the ribbons! They sure add a certain class to the home.
Question - can you put all your podcasts in one location on the web site? I like to listen to them again without have to click 'previous'.
Thanks! Have a great weekend.
My first attempt to connect gave me a 'network error'. If that is from your end not being able to hand out the 1s and 0s fast enough due to the thousands who are trying to listen at the same time, you might want to adjust your podcast encoding parameters to make a smaller file. You appear to be encoding at 160kbpsVariableBitRate-48khz-Stereo, which is high for a voice podcast. The mix sounds mono so could drop to 96kpbsSteadyBitRate-44.1khz-Mono and probably sound just as good (fidelity-wise)with a much smaller file to stream.
Just thought I would comment, since you may not have learned all the 'ropes' thusfar. For further technical assistance, find the nearest 16 year old.
I can see where there are woodpecker holes...also kind of looks like you're decorating for a baby shower!
And I tell you this, because we're all here together and y'all are supposedly reading Surrendered, the beer is on me! God bless you and go Wed Wings!
Hey Dick, While you are up there, you should have Gail, Jackie and Big Al hand you all the Christmas decarations to put up on the roof!! You can avoid
doing that task during the cold weather. I want pictures of that!!
Ken from Cincinnati.
Thank you ever so much (cough!) for these wonderful (snort) pod casts.
Already looking forward to next Friday's offering.
You guys are great! C'mon...only one day a week? That's ridiculous. You should do this every day!!!
Biggest laughs I've had all week!! Jackie, Big Al and Dick you have something special going! Thanks for sharing your talent!!!
So glad to hear everyone again!!! Radio isn't the same without Dick Purtan and Purtan's People!!! :(
Love it! Miss you all....wish you were on the air everyday! Keep up the
great work.....morning radio has not been the same since you left.
AL
You must stay with Dick. You need each other.
Congratulations to Jill, Mark and all the Purtan family. Just one question Dick, I have often heard you say that you had six daughters and had paid for seven weddings. I believe you also said you weren't paying for any more. Do we need to do a radiothon for Jill's wedding?
Yes I agree with another follower your house looks festive!!!
P.S Do you paint houses??
This would take care of boy AND girl woodpeckers!!! Two thumbs up!!
Podcast #4 What a great show ,You guys make me laugh so much ,miss you so much on the radio, but your weekly shows are great. Love all of you's. Congratulation's to Jill and mark.
Loving the podcasts. Good to hear from Bill Clinton. I know things are not so good in London now, but perhaps we could get an update from "the Queen" on an upcoming podcast to catch us up with the "royals"
Now we have another good reason to look up to you.
Hi Guys.....
There is absolutely no comparison to what is on now each morning and what you have on here. You are the dynamic trio! Morning rides just are not the same......Who would have thought that I would be getting ready for bed and listening to my favorite MORNING threesome! My body clock is going to get very mixed up!!!
I think that since this is coming through the computer, you should include the video of your tape so we can move into your new role in 2011....audio and visual of all of you!!!
Congratulations to Jill and Mark............its nice to hear good news for a change.
I am a hopeless romantic....(you'll see when you finally watch THE KEY......on the list to mail tomorrow...really.....a very busy week) I loved the proposal site.....
And.....re animals and woodpeckers...how do you fare with deer? We have a woods behind our home in which a large extended family of deer live....they eat my day lillies................until I bought Liquid Fence which is some type of animal urine....it really stinks......but since it worked, I thought......hmmm....rather than buy this stuff, I am going to ask my husband Pat to pee on the lillies....since we are secluded, we donlt have to worry about indescent exposure.....guess what.........it worked! Free Pee Saves Cindi's Day Lillies........YES!!!!
Love to all of you and thanks for my bedtime story time,

Thanks for doing this guys. We love it. We'll take whatever we can get. :)
As a former Detroiter, it's good to hear Dick Purtan, again. I loved listening to him in the 70s on primarily WXYZ, but also CKLW and I think WKNR. It's been a long time, but good to hear you, again.
Keep up the good work!
