Welcome to Friday or Podcast Day as we like to call it here at DickPurtan.com! This week, Big Al, Jackie and I cover everything from a rather embarrassing “Butt Call” and Motorcycle Riding Rabbis (yep, our pal Maury stops by!) to politics and pork (well actually - it’s beef). As you can see from the pictures below, I visited a local eatery that is home to a 10 pound hamburger and a gazillion scoop ice cream sundae.
And with Sunday being the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we remember that horrific morning and how we experienced it while we were on the air. Plus… I tell you about an important internet warning involving this anniversary and how to protect your computer and e-mails.

What a great sports weekend for the people from this area:
The Tigers swept the Twins for 9 in a row and are well on there way to the post season. The Michigan Wolverines came from behind, not once but twice, to beat the Fighting Irish Saturday night in one of the most exciting games I have ever seen. It wasn't pretty, but a win is a win. And last but not least, our Lions were winners over Tampa Bay on the road which made for a terrific conclusion to a great weekend. I did watch a lot of TV with 9/11 squeezed between the sporting events. I enjoy your pod cast, but miss you on the air. Hope your retirement is going great.

Just to respond to the 9-11 broadcasts....There was one on the Biography network called "102 Minuets That Changed America" which was a compilation of amature videos about the events surrounding the fall of the towers. It was a beautiful editing job and gave the feeling that it was told in real time. There was no narration and was told by the reactions of the people involved and observing the events. I recommend it highly.
As for your story of the week...I read last week the story of the guy who attempted to rob a convience store while dressed up as Gumby. The clerk would not believe that he was being robbed. "Gumby" tried to convince him by drawing out his gun. However his gloves were too big to handle the gun and also lost 26 cents in change in the process. The would-be robber left in a panic. There is nothing like a well-planned robbery. And that was nothing like a well-planned robbery.
